WASHINGTON REDSKINS

The Washington Redskins are a professional football team based in Washington D.C.  They are part of the East Division in the National Football Conference.  The Washington Redskins were previously known as the Boston Braves (1932) and the Boston Redskins (1933-1936).

In 1937, the team moved Washington D.C. and were renamed the Washington Redskins.  The Redskins are a very successful NFL football team.  The team wons the 1937 and 1942 Championship games and after the merger, they have won Super Bowls XVII, XXII, and XXVI.  Including these championships, they also played in several championship games but lost which inlcuded the games in 1936, 1940, 1943, and 1945 as well as Super Bowls VII and XVIII.  

The Washington Redskins have made 22 total postseason appearances and have an overall postseason record of 23 wins and 17 loses.  Their three Super Bowl wins are currently tied with the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots.
